Neuralyst FAQ: 93-1

Release Date: 13-December-1994

Question: The July 1993 issue of Futures magazine included a neural network survey article which rated Neuralyst as have the poorest accuracy. Why is this?

Response: First not all products covered in the survey were tested. Some vendors who participated in the product survey declined to participate in the product test because they felt the test did not properly evaluate the performance of all neural network types and algorithms in a consistent way. Second, the summary table of accuracy presented in the article reported a difference value without referencing an absolute value. As a percentage of absolute value, Neuralyst’s accuracy was reasonable and quite cempetitive. Finally, Neuralyst was also reported in that article as having the highest marks for usability, thus combining competitive accuracy with top-rank usability.
