Cheshire specializes in the fields of embedded real-time systems, microprocessor controllers, digital and analog circuit design, signal processing, video processing, systems software and drivers.

Experience:

• Digital Signal Processing: Cheshire has extensive practical experience with both analog and digital signal processing.
• Video: Composite, DTV, HDTV. Cheshire has very broad experience in the technical skills and knowledge required to design and complete projects in today's video processing and image capture environments.
• Solid State Cameras and Imagers: Cheshire has experience with complete image capture system design from the image sensor through to storage media.
• Languages: C, C++, Lua, Perl, Python, many assembly languages, and more. We prefer to size the language and the CPU to the problem. In the past, Cheshire has created assemblers, written simulators, and worked on compilers for a variety of source languages and target CPUs.
• Bus and storage technologies: USB, IEEE-1394 Firewire, WiFi, Bluetooth, Compact Flash, SD Card. Cheshire has designed USB and Firewire peripherals, integrated Bluetooth and WiFi channels, and integrated storage technologies such as CF and SD cards in designs.
• Internet and Web Technologies, Internet of Things (IoT). Cheshire can integrate embedded web and other internet protocol servers in networked projects.
• Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS): µC/OS-II, µITRON. Cheshire contributed a port of µC/OS-II and used it in a variety of projects. Cheshire will recommend an RTOS when something more than a simple main loop is needed, but a complete Linux is overkill.
• Embedded Linux: Yocto Project, Open Embedded, Linaro, and Angstrom. Cheshire has experience with embedded Linux in projects through the use of system on module technologies.
